“So, what do you do?”
It’s a simple question, one I was asked recently, and it stopped me in my tracks.
In that moment, I realised the answer wasn’t a neat, tidy label that fits in a box. I am a writer. I am a YouTuber. I am a mindset and performance coach. I am an endurance athlete. I’m not just one of these things; I am all of them. And they are all connected by a single, unifying thread: a relentless exploration of human potential.
My name is Phil Jessé, and this is the story of how that exploration became my life’s work, all viewed through the lens of a philosophy I call The Bar Raiser Mindset.
The Laboratory of the Mind: Forging Philosophy on the Pull-Up Bar
It started with a simple, audacious goal. I wanted to see how far I could push myself, and the pull-up bar became my laboratory. This journey has so far led me to complete over half a million pull-ups, including conquering challenges like 100,000 reps in just 151 days.
But the real discovery wasn't in the numbers; it was in the mindset required to achieve them. Each repetition was a lesson in discipline. Each setback was a masterclass in resilience. I learned that true endurance isn't just physical; it's a mental game. The body can achieve incredible things, but only when the mind is trained to lead the way. It was in this crucible of intense physical effort and unwavering mental focus that the principles of The Bar Raiser Mindset were forged.

Coaching allows for deep, one-on-one transformation, but I knew these tools and ideas needed to be shared more widely. That’s where my work as a writer and YouTuber comes in.
